Intellectual History can be a confusing mess un little properly broken down by separating itself from another similar historiography, History of Ideas. It is very easy to flim-flam these two forms of historiography due to their similar nature concerning how they are utilize and how content may be understood. Many masses count that the History of Ideas and Intellectual History are basically a synonym for each other. The History of Ideas focuses on a sentiment or concepts and then uses it to understand why something happened. Intellectual level on the other hand examines not what happened but how population accepted it. To interpret a situation correctly, looking into other forms of historiography may be necessary to understand an overall consequence.
