Many sight equate trust with moral behavior; some even trust that moral philosophy stems from religion. As children we are taught in Sunday school and Hebraic school that if you do non follow these set of laws or rules of religion, something will happen, some sort of punishment. It is a tactic of fear, the view that there is punishment for not doing what g-d asks of. In order for this to very be true, we would all have to believe in religion. Since everyone does not believe in a religion and pietism sacredly lives in everyone religion is clearly not necessary for faith.
The inability for humans to understand and agree on universal morality is not an issue of religion, rather differences in self-interest. Morality comes from the Latin word moralitas, meaning proper behavior. What or who determines what is proper or not? This is self-interest, if making a choice or purpose based on whether you believe and feel something is moral is what morality is. Everyone makes his or her own personal opinion on what they believe is moral. This proper behavior stems from the idea of societal acceptance, how you will be viewed or your reputation.
In modern day society we reveal things as proper or improper and good or bad behavior. If you honestly believe something is acceptable and you will do it, this becomes your set of morals. Morality plays a big role in society; it determines how well you follow rule and laws. Typically in a society you expect everyone to do their part and erect by the laws. Everyone should behave and also control their families. This is where morality comes into play, bring as a parent you teach your kids from right and treat and as an adult you know that if you have conflict with a neighbor you know to confront them in a creditworthy way.
