Human behavior is always learned. We entert do anything we havent seen separates do. I desire that social institutions such as the family or school sacrifice majorly to human behavior. We ar conditioned by the people close to us to adapt to this world. We learn everything from observation and our own experiences. We are who we are because we were made that way. We enjoy what the norms are for most situations and we know what behavior is tolerated and which is not.
A lot of what we experience develops personality as well. Whether your drive told you not to conjure up the stove or if you stirred it and then jerked your hand away, you still learned not to tinct to the stove. It is not instinctual knowledge that it will burn your hand, but through your own experiment or from advice, you know you should not touch it.
I dont think that we develop our instincts to their replete potential.



I thought at first that instincts had nothing to do with the development of our personality, but after considering it, they may play a role. I think of the example of a car crash. My mothers first instinct when she must break apace is to contiguously throw her arm out to protect the passenger. She has a protective personality. Someone elses first instinct may be to protect their own body. I think that a persons own values can be seen in their instinct reactions.
