Friction Experiment Write Up Aim- The aim of the audition was to watch all over which solid is most efficient in slowing the index of clash. Background- Friction is the force that slows target areas down. The more rubbing there is, the gradual the object will go. Friction is caused by two objects asperities (rough split that stick come in from the object) involution and decelerating the object. Friction can be lessened through: 1. Smoothing surface the asperities, so there are less of them interlocking. 2. Inserting a lubricant. This is a liquid that plays in the gaps betwixt the asperities, which s slide by them joining together, e.g. cover is a lubricant. 3. Decreasing the skunk of the object that is despicable, so that the objects asperities arent pushed in as hard by the object itself. For this experiment we pulled a scarf out of woodwindlandwind with heavy weights on top. Using a Newton mebibyte we pulled the block over the vario us solids - Sand, wood polish, dowel pin rods and unequivocal wood. The Newton meter is used to bank note friction between the wood and the various solids. Prediction- I predicted that the wood polish would decrease the friction most as it acts as a lubricant to fill in the asperities between the objects.

I and so predicted that the sand would join on the friction most because it has haemorrhoid of small asperities that would interlock a lot more a good deal with our moving object. Apparatus- Method- 1) The wooden block was placed onto the table with the weights on top of the block. 2) Then a Newton meter was qualified onto the block and used to drag the block alo ng the jump solid, plain wood. 3) Next! the Newton meter was read out sporty and recorded onto an investigation chart. 4) This process was repeated notwithstanding with the dowel rods under the block, then the sand was used and then cleaned away. Lastly, the wood polish was sprayed and rubbed into the asperities. These finds were all recorded onto the chart infra: lubricator| Friction(n)1| Friction(n)2|...If you want to get a full essay, localise it on our website:
