They used as much of the buffalo as they could, they would eat the meat and use the fur for clothing. As the buffalo began to become more scarce it was harder for the Plains Indians to hunt.
The white settlers didnt just cause damage to the Native Americans. They traded them horses and guns, which made it easier to hunt.
