Religion has always taken a big place throughout all times, precisely it has evolved through every epoch. During the medieval times, the main leader of religion was the Roman Catholic Church. The Church was considered to be the seat of learning of the middle ages, they all followed Christs teachings. The church had nuns and monks who would as well follow Christs teachings in the convents in which they lived, their main duties were to work study and pray. In Europe the monasteries began in Italy and it then spread through the anticipate of Western Europe by 1100. Also, priests were in charge of lead churches, they taught that anyone who would live a good life would be rewarded by God; during this times, church brought peace to Europe. Though, there was a component which bad influenced people and it was the Crusades. They started by 1905 when Pope urban II displace knights to go fight for the Holly Land, which was where Jesus had lived and they thought that Christians moldiness get it not Muslims. The second crusade started in 1097 when the formalised army was sent to fight the land and two eld later Christians got Jerusalem.



During the third crusade Christians cal lead out for help of oppositewise countries to help them and by 1187 Muslims had gotten Jerusalem back. The fourth crusade was led by three kings in which Christians gained a lot of battles but still Muslims owned Jerusalem and they made peace for 5 years which then lead to the fifth crusade cognize as the Childrens crusade. This crusade took place in 1212, it consisted of children who were sent to expel Muslims from the Holy Land and many children would march to Italy, and other would be sold into slavery. The effects of these crusades influenced a lot in the wealth and power of Catholic Church, but now a days the church has retracted because the crusades only brought death and miseries to Europe.
